Chienthang Nguyen, LPCC 1047

My name is Chienthang Nguyen. I prefer to go by the name “Thang” (pronounced Tong). I have been a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor for over 10 years and in the mental health field for over 24 years. Throughout the course of my career, I have worked in non-profit mental health organizations to assist various populations while specializing in Transitional Age Youths (TAY), LGBTQIA+, veterans, victims of addiction, victims of trauma in all its forms, and adults with severe mental illness.

My goal as a therapist is to improve and enhance the quality of life of every individual by providing client-centered and strength-based counseling, while having a customized reality based approach to help meet their cultural and individual needs. I believe it is important to first develop a safe and trusting environment where we can work together to create a plan to get you to a state of feeling accomplished with managing your needs, whether they be to engage in healthier relationships with others, yourself, or navigate through all of life’s transitions and challenges.

Sometimes on the journey to wellness, we tend to focus on the “negatives” in our lives and what “doesn’t work.” Why not shift the focus to our “strengths” and what “is working” in order to formulate more realistic goals and methods that you can use while feeling safe and comfortable. We will reach your successes while meeting your challenges together. We all feel overwhelmed at one point in our lives or another, but the most important fact we tend to forget during these critical moments is that we don’t have to go through them by ourselves. I will be there for you, whether it is to allow you to have a safe place to vent your frustration, process your challenges, or explore new options. Your first challenge is to reach out for help and start taking the initial steps to your wellness journey. I’ll be there to meet you and guide you along the way.
